Oil and Gasoline Safety

Photograph of a gasoline pump shed of the Wetumka African-American Soil Conservation Service Camp. The picture documents the safety measures taken by this particular camp for a special report. Note the various safety precautions that have been taken to make the storage of oil and gasoline safe: 1. Sand barrel with lid for fighting fires. 2. Shovel painted red hanging on the wall. 3. Photograph of low rent housing addition in the City of Holdenville, Oklahoma. This soil is a part of the hector series of soil classification [shallow, well drained, moderately rapidly permeable soils that formed in residuum from sandstone bedrock. These soils are on nearly level to moderately steep ridgetops and steep and very steep mountain sides]. The shaping of 10 to 30% slopes to put the houses on and the steep slopes left next to the housing. This soil usually has a clay layer under the sandstone. There may be problems with this building site. OK-3663-12.
