Picture hat of black ribbon straw. The shallow, domed crown is surrounded by the wide, flat brim, which is edged with black velvet ribbon at turned down edge. Asymmetric crown creates wider brim in front. The hat is lined in a stiffened black mesh. Headband of black grosgrain ribbon on wired inner frame covered in black velvet; tabbed sides help secure hat to head. Three hatpins: one with grosgrain head, two with velvet heads.
