Photograph used for a story in the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. Caption: "A Touch-And-Go Problem still confronting officials of the Oklahoma Semi-Centennial exposition Wednesday night was the opening of May Ave. before the big show opens Friday. A double lane of asphaltic concrete has already been laid to provide access from the south to the main fairground entrance, but rains Wednesday stopped plans to lay asphaltic concrete to give a north access. Barring more rain before Thursday morning, however, asphaltic comcrete will be put down Thursday. That will give the exposition a double lane from NW 10 to the entrance on the west leg of the proposed four-lane road and another double lane north from the Rock Island tracks on the east leg. This view (looking south from NW 10) was made by Daily Oklahoman staff photographer Jim Lucas."

Photograph used for a story in the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. Caption: "A Year's Water Supply for Oklahoma City has already gone down the North Canadian river this year and more is coming. This view shows the river surging through the Lake Overholserbypass canal, at right. Heavy rains which filled the two the city lakes and the city's 90,000 acre-feet of storage at Canton dam produced the surplus. Lake Overholser , full to the brim for more than a month, can take no more water. Lake Hefner actually is, .15 of feet above the "official full" mark. Canton still has about 4 feet of water to release from its flood control pool."
