One more week of good weather and sculptor Bernard Frazier will finish the frieze over the west door of the Oklahoma City Federal Building, NW 4 & Robinson. "I know we probably won't get enough good weather, but I'm hoping for it," Frazier said Sunday while he and two assisstants wwere taking down the large metal scaffold in front of the sculpture. Frazier is scuuplor-in-residence at the University of Kansas at Lawrence. He has been working on the sculpture since early last spring when he completed the frieze on the east side of the building."

An openhouse is scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at NW 3 and Robinson, before dedication ceremonies at 3 p.m. The openhouse will continue until 6 p.m., Clarence Paine, city libraries director, sad Thursday. The Charles E. France room, special attraction of the new 5-floor building, will be opened to the public for the first time Sunday. Dedicated to Past A room dedicated to preserving Oklahoma City's past, it is named for the man who concieved the idea before his death. A protriat of France, painted by Dick Goetz, will be unveiled at the dedication of the special room at 2 p.m. The painting, which will hang in the room decorated with Victorian furnitures and fixtures, was commissioned by Sylvan N. Goldman, chain grocer...Mrs. Walter L. Gray, president of the city library board, will preside at the 3 p.m. ceremonies dedicating the new library building. Kermit Hardwick, board member, will present 13 lifetime "patron cards," the first ever given, as part of the ceremony."

McKee Co., contractors......The $8 millions structure will require 3,200 tons to steel framework. Interior work has started on the first wing, laundry, recreation building and boiler house. The stel shortage caused a year's delay in construction of the new hospital. It was supposed to have been finished in 500 days, but delays were allowed by the VA because of the shortages."

The wandering stream formely passed to the east of the large oak tree in the center of the picture. Workers dug a new channel, not yet finished, 130 feet to the west. The new channel will be 15 feet deep, 20 feet wide at the bottom, and 60 feet across at the top when finished. Curb and gutter for Santa Fe across the fill has already been laid and paving is to go in soon."
