Lunch Thursday for 90 men in Chandler was spaghetti and meat sauce, buttered peas, tossed salad, peaches, cookies, iced tea,and some apprehension. The diners, eating from paper plated and drinking from aluminum canteed cups, were members of Headquarters and Service Battery, 1st Battalion, 160th Field Artillery, 45th Infantry Brigade of the Oklahoma army National Guard. They were called to duty late Wednesday with other units of the battalion to standby for possible use in campus demonstrations that have followed President Nixon's Cambodia decision and the slaying of four Kent University students by Ohio national guardsmen....Lt. Col. James M. Bullock, battalion commander and a public accountant in Chandler, said all members in the unit taking part in the standby - about 375 men in units at Chandler, Seminole, Pauls Valley, Minco, and El Reno - have had basic training and riot control training..."We're non-political," said Bullock, a veteran of duty in Japan and Korea with the federalized 45th Infantry Division, Oklahoma National Guard."

The cadence was greeted by such taunts as "hey straighten up" and "watch that step.' there also werea few hisses. The loudest hiss greated Maj. Edwin Mitts, assisteant professor of Military Science.
