Photograph used for a story in the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. Caption: "More than 25,000 persons swarmed over 160 acres at NW 10 and Portland Thursday to see a worn-out dairy plant turned into a model farm in a day. Work began at sunup and ccontinued until dusk when the farm was dedicated to Oklahoma A&M college, Stillwater, to be used as an experiment station. Morning ceremonies were highlighted by the rerun - a symbolic enactment of the run of '89 designed to draw attention to new emphasis to be placed on the soil's place in the state's economy. Army tanks, infantrymen, horsemen and carriages made the symbolic dash across the dry, dusty farm. Like the state's wheat farms the land was in need of rain. terracing and planting operations were marked by clouds of dust whipped by a strong wind. But farmers and city residents alike strod back and forth between the 16 seperate projects that were under way. Stars in the show of mechanized strength were the operators of the heavy earth movers."

Photograph used for a story in the Oklahoma City Times newspaper. Caption: "The panoramic beauty above was the result of dawn-to-dusk operations on the "The -Run of '48" soil project on a 160-acre farm at NW 10 and Portland. More than 200 pieces of heavy dirt-moving equipment and farm impements were used in the experiment which saw a run-down and tired farm converted into a modern, fertile homestead. This striking air picture was made from a helicopter over the scene of operations."
