Caption: "Preparing To Leave on a quick tour of Altus Air Force Base, 100 state legislators met at the state capitol at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday for the briefing. The legislators were flown to the Altus base in two air force planes and were due back in Oklahoma Cityib time for afternoon sessions. Apeak at an Altus missle in the complex ringing the base also was on the schedule. The invitation was extended the delegation by Brig. Gen. William B. Campbell of the 816th Air division in connection with the ground-breaking ceremonies of the new air national guard armory in Altus. The lawmakers arrived in Altus at 8 a.m. They were briefed on the Strategic Air command mission and how it applies to the Altus area."
