An estimated 200 persons, nearly all Negroes, rallied at the state capitol Saturday to urge elimination of segregation in business firms and to thank Gov. Edmondson for creating a committee on human relations. The 45-minute meeting replaced a planned demonstration in the downtown Oklahoma City business area to win equal treatment for Negroes at eating places. The demonstration was planned at the John A. Brown Co., department store that was the scene of lunch counter sitdowns in 1958. it was called off at Edmondson's request to permit his new committee to study the new problem. Speakers at the rally sponsored by the Oklahoma City chapter of National Association for the Colored People made it clear they hope for an early end to segregation in business firms. But E.
