The purpose of this study is to present the basic facts and principles involved in the organization and administration of the cooperative part-time training program in the public schools of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

This thesis is a study of the growth and expansion of railroads in Oklahoma.

The purpose of this study is four-fold: (1) to present through an analysis of life needs the nature and source of a curriculum best adapted to democracy; (2) to present fairly some of the reasons why a curriculum must be founded on democracy if democracy survives the dangerous forces that threaten to obliterate its very existence; (3) to make an unprejudiced analysis of the regular situation now existing in Oklahoma schools at the present time to find whether her schools are meeting this challenge to democracy; and (4) to offer from the comparison of the summaries of these data recommendations whereby all schools may have a curriculum "rooted in the life of its people"--a program that contributes to democracy and permanent national defense.

The purpose of this investigation is to determine the incidence of retardation or non-promotion and the relationship of various characteristics of the retarded children in the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades of Sunset School.

The problem in this study is to make a comparison of the qualifications and duties of secretaries of city school superintendents in Oklahoma, with regard to academic training stenographic duties, duties pertaining to financial records and reports, banking duties, duties pertaining to general records and reports, duties pertaining to bus and transportation reports, teaching duties and miscellaneous duties.

This investigation is a study of the issues involved in the disputed cases pertaining to the Oil Refining Industry which were certified to the Eighth Regional War Labor Board serving Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana during World War II.

This investigation is a study of grievance machinery in industrial relations, as it operates within the Eighth Regional War Labor Board, which serves the states of Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. By grievance machinery is meant the formal procedure through which the worker or his representative must proceed in order to get a grievance or complaint about working conditions, wages, or other items, heard and settled.

The special problem which the writer chose was the study of the most prevalent postural defects of two hundred fourteen school children at Pershing Elementary School, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and to prepare and to administer a program of corrective exercises, and further to determine the progress made by the children after the application of the corrective program for the school years 1946-47 through 1947-48.

This investigation proposes to present a comparison of two compendiums of philosophy, and in the light of this comparison determine the prevailing types of educational philosophy and practice used in certain schools of southern Oklahoma.

The problem in this investigation has a three-fold purpose: namely, (1) to determine the results of delaying formal arithmetic until the fourth grade; (2) to ascertain the results reflected in the reading abilities of children when the time ordinarily spent on drill and organized instruction in arithmetic is given to reading, the diverted time being spent in reading arithmetic stories, playing games, and in using other arithmetical processes in connection with school activities; (3) to compare the results of a behavior journal kept for each child in the experimental group and in the control group.

For four hundred years the Red River Valley has been the battleground between contending Indian tribes and European races, and for almost three hundred of these years the river has been a disputed boundary line, either between rival nations, or between neighboring states of our country. The river has never been of much importance as a commercial route, yet very few rivers in all the United States have played so an important and persistent a part in this history of their sections as the Red River has played in the history of the Southwest.

This thesis is an attempt to portray the part the forts of the Southwest had in developing the Federal Indian Policy in that region from 1865 to 1885.

Instrumental music classes in the public schools of Tulsa, Oklahoma, have experienced a phenomenal growth during the past twenty years. Prior to this period, opportunity for instrumental music expression was limited to the high school band and orchestra,which rehearsed outside of school hours. No instruction other than this was provided and the student who wished to play in the school band or orchestra studied first from private instructors. In this study the investigator has examined a great many devices for measuring capacities and aptitudes which are known to the profession. He has attempted to evaluate these procedures in the light of sound educational philosophy. He has set forth a plan which he believes will materially improve the instrumental program through discovering unsuspected musical capacity and through sound guidance in the selection of suitable instruments.
