Interview with attorney and Army Air Forces veteran Edward J. Drake. The interview includes Drake's personal experiences about being a B-17 pilot in the European Theater during World War II, youth and education in Dallas, Texas, enlistment in the Aviation Cadet Program, various training programs, bombing transportation facilities during and after the Ardennes Offensive, crash-landing in Belgium after his plane was hit, and linking up with American troops. Additionally, Drake talks about his assignment to the 91st Bomb Group, the routine for a typical mission, formation flying, flying through enemy flak, rest and relaxation on-base and in London, recuperating from a collapsed lung, his return to combat for three more missions, and his return to the crash site of his plane 57 years later. The interview includes an appendix with "The Last Flight of 'Jezebel,'" written by Drake.

Interview with Army Air Forces veteran Wilbur H. Ford. The interview includes Ford's personal experiences about being a B-17 pilot in the European Theater during World War II, training, transferring to the Army Air Force from the Army, flight training, B-17 transition training, and crew training. Ford also talks about his assignment to the 401st Bomb Group, enemy flak, the highlights of his nine missions over Germany, battle damage to his plane, the Dresden raid, returning to the States, and transition training in B-29s for transfer to the Pacific Theater.

Interview with African American North Texas State University alumnus James Gayle. The interview included Gayle's personal experiences of childhood, playing basketball at Fort Worth's all-black Terrell High School, attending North Texas and enrolling in the ROTC program, and his experience as a boarder in "Shack Town" neighborhood of Denton. Gayle talks about the comparison of race relations in Artesia, New Mexico, and Waco and Forth Worth, Texas, the "neutral" stance of NT administration toward black students and the "self-support" system among students, as well as his relationships with professors and white students, and his perception of what he gained from his NT experience.

Interview with LeRoy Ellis Cox. The interview includes Cox's personal experiences about childhood and early adulthood in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and Colorado, World War-II-era Army Air Corps training in armaments and electronics, stateside service in the 303rd Bomb Group of the Eighth Air Force, aviation cadet training, serving as a B-25 instructor pilot, and as a DC-3 tow pilot for the glider program.

Interview with Richard (Dick) Bennett, a pilot during World War II. He discusses his enlistment in the Army Air Corps, basic training and flight school. He then went to a base in South Carolina to learn to fly B-25s. At Fort Myers, Florida he flew B-26 bombers and trained to fly them off of aircraft carriers so they could drop torpedos on the Japanese fleet during naval battles. He traveled across the Pacific to Brisbane only to be told that they didn't have B-26s for the crews; the colonel there knew nothing about the plan to launch B-26s from aircraft carriers, so they were sent to New Guinea to fly B-17s and supplement the crews for those bombers. From there they made bombing runs or "Washing Machine Charlie"-type runs to keep people awake at night on various Japanese targets in the islands, particularly the base at Rabaul. In fall of 1943, the Army grounded the B-17s due to the damage they had incurred and replaced them with B-24s. Interview with Colonel Leland D. Bartlett, an Army WWII veteran and POW from Springfield, Massachusetts. Bartlett discusses his education, his experience as a teenager in the Pancho Villa Expedition, becoming a commissioned officer in the Army, his pre-war career, his deployment to the Philippines, the Japanese attack, the Battle of Bataan, the siege of Corregidor and the American surrender, and his internment at Cabanatuan, Tanagawa, and Zentsuji.

Interview with Bruce Monroe from San Antonio, Texas. Monroe discusses attending Texas A&M, coming out, the gay scene in Houston and Florida, the start of the AIDS epidemic, living in Dallas and work with the Dallas Gay Alliance, becoming president of the DGA, changing its name, the Dallas Buyers Club, work in Washington DC, living with HIV, Dallas Way, and art.

Interview with Paul Bunch, a New Mexico National Guard WWII veteran and POW from Atlanta, Missouri. Bunch served in I Troop, 111th Horse Cavalry, which became F Battery, 200th Coast Artillery (Anti-Aircraft); he recounts going to the Philippines before the war in 1941, his action during the bombing of Clark Field on December 8th, the fight for Bataan, and his capture and internment at Camp O'Donnell, after which he was held at Cabanatuan #2, Bilibid Prison, and then Yodagawa Steel Mill, Osaka, Japan.

Interview with Alivin Dean, a farmer and former member of the Civilian Conservation Corps from Geronimo, Texas, regarding his experiences and memories of participating in the CCC during the Great Depression.

Interview with William Taylor, an executive at Caltex Petroleum Corporation from New York, about his experiences working for the company in the Philippines and Thailand, the joint venture refinery in Thailand, expansion of the company, and the move of headquarters from New York to Dallas.

Interview with Joel Walker, an employee of the Home Owners' Loan Association from Marietta, Oklahoma. Walker worked for the HOLA in Dallas during the Great Depression; he discusses working at a bank in Roswell, New Mexico, unemployment, hiring with HOLA in Dallas, how the Association operated, loan terms, mortgages, and foreclosures.

Interview with Lloyd Wood, a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps from Valera, Texas. Wood discusses his family background, joining the CCC and assignment to Cache, Oklahoma, the layout of the camp, daily routine, projects, fights, recreation and entertainment, his fellow men and superiors, transfer to a camp at Roswell, New Mexico, sports and athletics, pay, ethnic relations in camp, and the National Association of CCC Alumni.
