From purpose and scope: The purpose of this study was to estimate the natural streamflow in the Rio San Jose at the upstream boundaries of the Pueblos of Acoma and Laguna. Natural streamflow is defined for this study as the streamflow that would have occurred if water development in the basin upstream from the pueblos had never taken place.

From abstract: The High Plains Regional Aquifer System Analysis study has developed a regional water-resources (and related) data storage and retrieval system to organize and preserve areal interpretive data. The system is general and can easily be adapted for other studies. This report documents the High Plains data base as well as the general system that is independent of the High Plains area.

From introduction: The U.S. Geological Survey is participating in this evaluation by developing information on the ground-water hydrology of the region, obtaining geologic borehole data, and conducting hydrologic tests in boreholes on and near the WIPP site. This report provides well-construction information and lithologic data about the Rustler and Salado Formations and the top of the salt interval within the Salado Formation at the H-8 borehole complex.

A three-dimensional model was created to estimate vertical hydraulic conductivity and regional ground-water flow rates in rocks within the San Juan Basin in New Mexico and Colorado.

From purpose and scope: The purpose of the National Uranium Resource Evaluation (NURE) program of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is to identify and delineate areas and environments within the Aztec 10X20 Quadrangle, New Mexico and Colorado, that exhibit characteristics favorable for the occurrence of uranium deposits that have the potential to contain at least 100 metric tons U3 08 total endowment with a minimum grade of 100 ppm (0.01 percent) U3 08 . Evaluation is based on geochemical, mineralogic, hydrologic, aerial radiometric, sedimentologic, and general geologic characteristics of the formations in the quadrangle.
