"The purpose of this report is to present the results of a study of the performance of the three relief well systems [along the Missouri River] during the July 1951 and April 1952 floods, and to compare their performance with design predictions. [...] The report includes observed uplift and well-flow data, descriptions of relief well operations during the floods, and an analysis of the effectiveness of the well systems together with discussion and comments on several experimental and test wells" (p. 2).

He plans to stay where he is because otherwise he couldn't bring Birdie with him. He talks about farm land selling and the nice profit people are making. He thinks there are good opportunities in Washington and Oregon. He would like them to come visit for Christmas.

This is a letter from the Charles B. Moore Collection. In this letter, Dr. Mattie L. Arthur thanks Linnet Moore White for her kindness during her visit with White. She notes that she has intended to write, but has been very busy. She wishes that all are well and also that Linnet and family have a wonderful Christmas and a healthy, Happy New Year.

A large piece of the paper has been torn away. There is an envelope addressed to Claude D. White at 3227 Pratt St. in Omaha, Nebraska. The return address is for the United States Civil Service Commission, Ninth U.S. Civil Service District, Old Custom House, St. Louis, Missouri. It is postmarked St. Louis, December 16, 1908, and there are handwritten notes in pencil on the back.

From abstract: The High Plains Regional Aquifer System Analysis study has developed a regional water-resources (and related) data storage and retrieval system to organize and preserve areal interpretive data. The system is general and can easily be adapted for other studies. This report documents the High Plains data base as well as the general system that is independent of the High Plains area.
