Interview with Ramon Ruiz, a civil servant of the Department of Education and advocate for Hispanic education from La Copita, Texas. Ruiz discusses his family history, growing up, school in Kingsville, local relations between Mexicans and white people, high school football, playing for North Texas State, becoming a coach for elementary school, joining the Job Corps, teaching inmates, working with school districts on desegregation in Texas, and work on various federal education programs in Washington with an emphasis on Hispanic communities and cooperation with Mexico. In appendix is a biography of Ruiz and his resumé.

Interview with James F. Brede, dentist and U.S. Army Air Forces veteran. The interview includes his personal experiences in World War II as a B-17 co-pilot with the 8th Air Force in the European Theater, his childhood in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, enlistment in the U.S. Army Air Forces in 1943, preliminary training in Tennessee, Alabama, Missouri, Arkansas, and Texas, his active service with the 379th Bomb Group in Kimbolton, England, combat experience in 35 missions, return to the U.S. and continued military service as a flight instructor in Lakeland, Florida and Wichita Falls, Texas, as well as the return to civilian life, marriage, dental school under the G.I. Bill, reenlistment in the Air Force as a dentist, his deployment to Korea, his discharge from the Air Force, and the establishment of his dental practice and experiences since retirement. The interview includes an appendix with a copy of his book.

Interview with Noah Brown. The interview includes Brown's personal experiences as an employee of the Red River Arsenal and the Lone Star Ordinance Plant. Brown also talks about union activities, safety procedures, women employees, and work schedules.

Interview with Chester Hudson concerning his experiences before, during, and after his employment in the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression. Hudson worked at camps in Calico Rock, Arkansas (Company 4747); Walcott, Arkansas (Company 3799); and Ozone, Arkansas (Company 1708). Includes an appendix.

Interview with Geralene Young about her experiences as an employee of the Red River Army Depot in Texarkana, Arkansas during World War II and the postwar years. Young discusses hiring and promotion practices, relations between male and female workers, social activities, and the social and economic effects of the depot on Texarkana.

Interview with Ildea Cutchall about her experiences as an employee of the Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant in Texarkana, Texas during World War II and the postwar years. Cutchall discusses the hiring procedures, the job assignments, safety precautions, social activities, swing shifts, race relations, relationships between the male and female workers, and the social and economic effects of the plant on Texarkana. Appendix includes a photocopy of a certificate from the Lone Star Ordnance Plant to Ildea S. Cutchall for 23 months of service at the plant during World War Two [1 leaf].

Interview with Marguerite Magee and Zelle Moore, sisters, about their recollections of life in Texarkana, Texas. Magee and Moore discuss their parents, Junior Service League, family entertainment, women's suffrage and political activities, church activities, the Current Topic Club, the Wednesday Music Club, and women's household chores.

Interview with L. Clifford Davis, an attorney known for his work for civil rights from Wilton, Arkansas. Davis discusses growing up in a segregated rural community, his education, time at Philander Smith College, integration in Arkansas, his efforts to gain admission to University of Arkansas Law School, becoming an attorney, reflections on civil rights legislation and its impact, practice in Fort Worth, his decision not to take part in direct action, cases fought, MLK's visit to DFW, supporting housing rights for blacks in Fort Worth, and reflections on inequality, current challenges, and civil responsibility. In appendix is a piece from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram about Davis, and two photographs of him.

Interview with James Stines, a former member of the Civilian Conservation Corps from Mena, Arkansas, regarding his experiences and memories of participating in the CCC during the Great Depression.

Interview with Lee E. Johnson, a retired educator, concerning his recollections about military life during World War I. Johnson discusses his education; his enlistment in the Texas National Guard; his training at Pecan Gap; Camp Bowie; the formation of the 36th Division; officers training school at Camp Pike, Arkansas; embarkation for France; Saint-Amand and Saint-Nazairre.

Interview with Dr. O. J. Curry from Santa Anna, Texas, the first dean of the School of Business at NTSU. Curry discusses his family history, childhood, education, becoming a teacher and high school principal, his marriage, getting his doctorate, the Great Depression, his time at the University of Arkansas and other institutions, his work with the petroleum industry during World War II, coming to NTSU, building the School Business, much about his tenure as dean, and his thoughts on business and education.

Interview with Jack Scroggs, a history professor at NTSU and former member of the Civilian Conservation Corps from Little Rock, Arkansas. Before a group of students, Scroggs discusses his time in the CCC in the 1930s, including: his family background and education; the effects of the Depression on his hometown and family; the introduction of New Deal programs; his memory of Fireside Chats; entry into the CCC and orientation; organization in the Corps and its administration by the Army; benefits of the Corps; quality of life in a CCC camp; and the projects worked. Included in appendix is Scrogg's certificate of proficiency for a CCC course in engineering.

Interview with John Bateman concerning his recollections of the Crater of Diamonds and diamond mining near Murfreesboro, Arkansas from 1930 to 1950. Appendix includes 2 maps: a "Geologic Map of the Prairie Creek Area of Peridotite in T. 8 S., R. 25 W., 2 1/2 Miles South-Southeast of Murfreesboro, Pike County, Ark." and a map showing the locations of various landmarks in the Crater of Diamonds State Park area.

Interview with Jessie Surratt about her recollections of women's lives in Texarkana, Texas during the Progressive Era. Surratt discusses the business community during her childhood, "Swampoodle" and speakeasies and prostitution, folk medicines, funeral practices, her education, her stay at Fort Worth Masonic Home, memories of her parents, church activities, her mother's membership in Maccabees, gender roles, child-rearing, and holiday customs.

Interview with Odis Taylor concerning his experiences before, during, and after his employment in the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression. Taylor worked at camps in Pierce, Idaho (Company 5702) and Emida, Idaho (Company 229).
