State Traffic Tool 1973 deaths to date: 33, 1972 deaths to date: 63, 1973 deaths under 21: 5, TULSA -- A Chouteau man who was going the wrong way on a divided highway was killed and a Tulsa police officer was left in serious condition Friday when both were involved in a head-on collision inside the city limits. Dead is: CLAUDET. DAVIDSON, 69. Highway Patrolman Bill Smith, who investigated the crash, said the car Davidson was driving was headed east in the westbound lane of I-244 when it collided with the westbound police car driven by Officer Billy W. Scullawl, 26, of Catoosa. Davidson was dead on arrival at a Tulsa hospital with multiple injuries. Scullawl was taken to Hillcrest Medical Center where he underwent surgery for a crushed chest and collapsed lung. Witnesses said Davidson entered a Crosstown Expressway exit headed in the wrong direction and appeared confused, but continued. They said the patrol car was behind a large truck and the sun appeared to be shining into the policeman's eyes. One witness said the police …
