Photograph of a gathering in downtown Arlington. There are many horse-drawn wagons carrying bales of cotton in the street. Men are by the wagons, in front of the stores, and sitting on the mineral water fountain. Some of the stores are W. R. Bivins, R. W. McKnight Groceries, Copeland Grocery, Coulter and Sons Drug Store, and Corner Drug Store. Believed to have been taken in 1916.

According to the title page, the directory contains "a miscellaneous directory of state, county and city governments, educational institutions, churches, banks, secret and benevolent societies, etc., a street guide and householders' directory, an alphabetically arranged list of business houses and private citizens, giving full names, occupation or pursuit, and address, also a complete Classified Business Directory, 'The Buyer's Guide'."

Scissors Hanger
Patent for scissors hangers for sales people in stores that provides a pair of hooks that is "depending from a shank and connected by an arched guard strip" (lines 15-16) that forms a scissors holding element. The scissors hanger will also have a plate metal body that allows the hanger to be attached to the clothing of the wearer.
