Computation of Inflows and Outflows of Eight Regulated Lakes in the Oswego River Basin, New York, 1930-79

Purpose and scope: This report describes (1) methods of computation used to obtain the daily lake inflows and outflows and river discharges; (2) sources of error and their implications for reliability of the computed values; and (3) a technique for smoothing lake-level hydrographs that minimizes the effect of random fluctuations in daily lake-levels resulting from seiche or wind action.

Interview with William Coughlin, a Army WWII veteran who was present at Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941, from Auburn, New York. Coughlin discusses joining the Army in 1937, transfer to Hawaii in 1940, duties as a grunt in coastal artillery on Sand Island, becoming a guard, engaging Japanese planes on the morning of December 7th, digging in for the evening, and later service. Included is a screenshot of Coughlin's online obituary.
