Vasquez gives a quick status update on events happening within the Senior LULAC councils and urges Junior officers and members that "FOR A MORE UNITED JUNIOR LEAGUE, WRITE OFTEN".

Letter to John J. Herrera from Frank M. Pinedo, May 10, 1955 asking Herrera to be chair a seminar on "Social Welfare" at the LULAC National Convention in Galveston. Pinedo gives Herrera details on the agenda for his presentation and requests a response on whether Herrera can participate.

Herrera agrees to be the chairman to the seminar on "Social Welfare." Herrera requests a copy of the program of speakers and seminars to be announced on the LULAC radio program in Houston.

Martinez of Galveston Council 151, asking Martinez to send a Lulac Program so that Herrera can have the events planned announced over the radio station KLVL. Herrera also asks Martinez to have Brother Cliff Lopez, chaplain of the Bryan Council, give the official prayer at the Convention in Galveston. Herrera tells Martinez of his plans to be a moderator at one of the seminars and mentions that it will be a "tight fight for the National Presidency."

Letter from G.C. Martinez to all League of United Latin American Citizens officers and councils sending out a reminder to book hotels and make plans to attend the 26th National Convention. The letter mentions that the Convention headquarters were the Buccaneer Hotel at 23rd and Beach Boulevard, Galveston, Texas. The letter also mentions that there will be receptions, banquets, dancing a floor show and a name band. There is also mention of a two and a half hour boat ride with luncheon and entertainment aboard as well as "a very special beach party" to "wind up the convention."

Letter from Daniel Ruiz, of Council Number 229, to John J. Herrera, thanking Herrera for his participation and presence at the Bryan, Texas Council No. 229's Open House. Ruiz also informs Herrera that Council No. 229 would be honored to have Cliff Lopez, Chaplain, give the official prayer at the National Convention at Galveston. Ruiz also informs Herrera that he will work diligently to get Herrera pictures of the hall and ball park before the National Convention.

Memorandum from Manuel Gonzales, LULAC National President, directed to All League of United Latin American Citizens State Directors and National Officers and dated September 9, 1976. The document includes an envelope from LULAC National Education Service Center addressed to John J. Herrera and postmarked on September 14, 1976, in Washington D.C.

Memorandum from Maria Olivares, Acting State Director, directed to State Council members regarding the State Council Meeting.

Letter from John J. Herrera to Alonso S. perales regarding the guardianship proceedings of the Cisneros matter. Herrera writes that he had a talk with Mrs. Mansfield, and her attorney is taking care of the matter of changing her name from Mrs. Fajardo to Mrs. Manfield. If she likes her name to be unchanged, Herrera could get the papers signed and send them to her. Herrera also mentions that he would get the file on Macario Garcia up to date and send it to her.

Letter from attorney Jean E. Hosey informing Ruth B. Juarez that her sister Efrosina owes money for utility payments, for which Ruth would be responsible as the recipient of Efrosina's Social Security money.

Letter from Ramiro Cavazos to John J. Herrera requesting Herrera's help. A second cousin of Cavazos's is being charged with possession of a firearm, to be tried in Galveston on October 11, 1978. The letter is handwritten on County of Hidalgo letterhead.

Carbon copy of letter to Dr. José Maldonado, President General of the League of United Latin American Citizens from John J. Herrera, Regional LULAC Organizer for Texas dated October 2, 1947. Enclosed with the letter is a carbon copy of the Cashiers Check that was sent with the original letter. This letter is a request to issue a charter for a new Texas City Men's Council of LULAC.

Letter from Joe Ramos, a member of the Texas City League of United Latin American Citizens Council. He is asking for an update concerning the Texas City Council's request for a charter. The letter is addressed to "Dear Sir" and mentions that they had previously communicated with Mr. John Herrera about the charter.

Carbon copy of letter to Dr. José Maldonado, President General of the League of United Latin American Citizens in Santa Fe, New Mexico dated February 26, 1948 from John J. Herrera, Regional Organizer for Texas. Herrera is asking for Dr. Maldonado's participation in the installation of the new Galveston Council Number 151 on Sunday, March 7, 1948. A delegation from Houston also planned to attend the installation ceremonies in Galveston.

Letter to John J. Herrera from Joe Garza dated February 28, 1948. Garza is confirming that he is able to attend the installation of the new Galveston Council of the League of United Latin American Citizens. The letter is on the letterhead of Jason's Jewelers of Corpus Christi, Texas.

Letter from Raul Padilla, Secretary of Texas City LULAC Council Number 150, to John J. Herrera, Regional Organizer for Texas LULAC, dated November 19, 1948. The Texas City Council voted in favor of having the Regional Convention in Houston. It is also reported that the school children in Crystal City, Texas, have been segregated in six or seven schools.
