Interview with Howard Yergin, an employee of Caltex Petroleum Corporation from New York City. Yergin discusses his career with the company, including his education and Army service, hiring by Caltex, move to Shanghai in 1948 and business conducted there, businessmen who helped reestablish Caltex's Chinese market after WWII, fleeing China in 1949, attempts at recouping capital from the Chinese government, operations in Hong Kong, changes in the oil market over the years, corporate financing, internal reorganization, OPEC, Persian Gulf economies, South African operations, the tanker fleet, and the company's move from New York to Dallas.

Ballgown of dark, navy blue ribbed satin. Strapless. Center front opening with 14 self-covered buttons, top two nonfunctional, with bound buttonholes. At upper bust, to left and right of center front opening, are attached paired flaps of self fabric giving appearance of patch pockets with flaps. Skirt gathers at natural waist with full skirt. Gored panels to left and right of center back seam of skirt. Inner bodice of black net with boning and black grosgrain ribbon petersham; closes at center front with 9 hook & eyes. Unlined. Evening dress of turquoise blues and shades of pink silk chiffon with beaded bodice. Full-length dress has 3 pink chrysanthemum flowers, one wraps around left side bodice, one at center front hemline, and other at center back hemline of skirt. The pattern of the petals continues beyond the flowers in shades of turquoise blue. Round neckline and hemlines are cut along the petal shapes. Bodice is accented with bugle beads in self-colors throughout. Bracelet length sleeves with covered snap closure; unstructured silhouette. Center back zipper and hook & eye at mid-back and hook & eye at neckline give open back effect. Fully lined in turquoise rayon; scalloped hem. No Designer label. Dress of color blocked blue, pink, and orange silk chiffon gently patterned from the bust to hem with multicolored butterflies, exotic flowers, and blue and green blades of grass. The full-length dress is embellished with horizontal stripes of bugle beads that are spaced farther apart as they reach the bottom of the dress; butterflies, flowers, and grass blades are embellished with seed and bugle beads. Band collar; straight, unstructured silhouette. Top of dress is blue, middle is pink, and bottom is orange. Center-back zip closure with two hook and eyes at collar; 15" slit at right side. Built-in shoulder pads. Long sleeves are unlined; balance of dress is lined in light mauve rayon.
