Johnston stated that he was checked several times for his press identification while in the basement of City Hall. He stated that the automobile backing into the basement area distracted him while Lee Harvey Oswald was being brought out, so he did not get a photograph of the shooting. At the time of the interview Johnston had been interviewed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

English stated that he was taking continuous pictures in the basement of City Hall and that he did not know Jack Ruby or see him prior to the shooting.
