Video footage from The Black Academy of Arts and Letters recorded during the 1991 "Dallas' Black Living Legends" award ceremony. Living Legends is an exhibition project started in 1987 by JBAAL to photograph and honor black historical figures of Dallas. Awarded across twenty-one categories ranging from the arts, sciences law, politics, religion, and technology. The video shows a man giving a speech followed by each awarded person standing to be recognized with their name and a brief description of their work in their field. The video concludes with the first man giving another speech.
