[The "Hustler" entering Dallas]
Southern Pacific's the "Hustler" train No. 15 northbound, headed by Engine No.650, a streamlined type 4-6-2 locomotive, entering Dallas Union Station on its run from Houston. The train is passing under the electric street railway viaduct (destroyed in the late 1950s) which spanned the railroad tracks and crossed over the Trinity River. Electric street cars to and from Oak Cliff and Interurban cars of the Northern Texas Traction Company and Texas Electric Railway used this double track facility.

["Twin Star Rocket" departing from Dallas]
Rock Island's " Twin Star Rocket" train No. 17, southbound, headed by diesel locomotive No. 677, enroute from Minneapolis, Minnesota to Houston, leaves Dallas on the last portion of its run in 1951. This was one of the finest streamliners operating in the nation. Its route from the Twin Cities of the north to the Texas' metropolis adjacent to the Gulf covered a rail distance of 1,363 miles.

The St. Louis Southwestern (Cotton Belt) Railway's "Lone Star Limited" train No. 11, westbound, headed by Engine No 677, a Mountain type 4-8-2 locomotive, at the Dallas Union Terminal Station. It has completed the run from Memphis, Tennessee. This was one of the finest passenger trains operating in the Southwest. t

El Fenix Cafe
The El Fenix Cafe menu contains the names and prices of their dishes, desserts, and beverages. The restaurant offered cocktails and relishes, salads, sandwiches, eggs and omelettes, soups, chicken and steak dinners, nonalcoholic beverages, wines, beer, fish, and a variety of Mexican dishes. The Special Mexican Dinner cost $1.25 at the time of this menu. A poem by James J. Metcalfe is written on the back of the menu.
