Letter from Mary H. Langford to Thelma Rice discussing the use of funds to host an expensive gala at the upcoming National Assembly of The Links, Inc. in Dallas, Texas. The Spokane, Washington chapter has collected a $1,200 member assessment under threat of expulsion from Links. Langford has enclosed the check but would like the area and national directors to reconsider the intended use of these funds. She and other members of the Spokane chapter believe it is inappropriate to hold a lavish party at the National Assembly during an economic recession that is taking a toll on so many Americans, and particularly on black families.

Erickson discusses his family origin, education and becoming an attorney, joining Kaiser Permanente, the company's joint venture with Prudential in Texas, its organization and finances, shortcomings, Kaiser Permanente Advisory Services, conflicts within the medical industry, difficulties establishing Kaiser in DFW and forming medical groups in Texas, competitors, why the venture ended, lessons learned, and Texas culture.
