The problem of this study was to test the effectiveness of adapting the reading instruction to the level and ability of individuals or small groups of a particular group of second grade children.

If the future citizens of tomorrow are to be educated, they must have, for one thing, at least, buildings in which to supply their needs adequately. This study is made with the realization that the physical plant does not make a good school, but with the idea that it does help a great deal.

Research was made to discover the development of piano from its very beginning to the present time, thereby showing the value of class piano and how old and new methods can be used to meet the needs and interests of the child.

The problem in this study has a three-fold purpose: to learn the likenesses and differences of the small and large business offices of Dallas, Texas, in regard to their employment requirements for the beginning stenographer; to determine to what extent the average Dallas high school graduate shows the characteristics that are requisite for secretarial success; and to evaluate the learnings of secretarial students in Forest Avenue High School, Dallas, Texas, in view of these findings.

The purpose of this study is to give the results of a testing program in the low seventh grade of an urban school wherein intelligence, personality, achievement, and socioeconomic tests were given. The primary purpose of the tests was to determine what influence, if any, the environmental factors played in the individual learning process, but attention was given to other phases of the learning process as well.

The problem herein undertaken is to compare the educational growth and personal characteristics of children from broken homes with those of children from normal homes. Plans were made to carry out the study described herein. If the broken home had any effect, could it be determined and measured in such a manner as to draw reasonable conclusions? An investigation was made to determine the effect, if any, which the broken home was having on the children in the school.

The problem of this investigation is to make a comparative study of a group of second grade children to determine, if possible, whether the child who attends kindergarten has any advantage over one who does not attend. Three phases of development are dealt with: behavior and social adjustment to second grade, mental maturity, and scholastic achievement in the second grade.

This study will endeavor to make a comparative study of seventeen children in the second grade in an elementary school in Dallas that attended private schools and omitted the first year of the public school, and seventeen children that are in the second grade after completing the first grade in the public school. The problem in this study has a three-fold purpose: to evaluate the work performance, as ranked by employers and teachers, of a group of employed graduates of business education of the sunset high School of Dallas, Texas; to evaluate the personality traits demonstrated by the employees on the job in relation to the personality traits demonstrated in school; and to analyze these evaluations to secure suggestions for improving the course of study, including the amount of emphasis which should be placed on the various phases of the instructional program.

It is proposed in this thesis to explore the possible use of the Sociometric test as a measure of the personal social factor in old age. It is further proposed to gather sociometric data by administering a sociometric test to the residents of two homes for aged persons in Dallas County, Texas, and to illustrate by sociograms and tables the uses for which such data might be of value in research designed to investigate the personal social factor in old age.

This research problem concerns a follow-up study of seventy-nine boys who have undergone extensive therapy and supervised training in group-living over an extended period of time at Camp Woodland Springs, Dallas, Texas. The problem under consideration is one of determining the operating efficiency of this institution in its main purpose of rehabilitating boys who have generally lacked the social and personal skills necessary to satisfactory adjustment in their respective environments.
