Patent for a new and improved straining beam. This design "is especially adapted to be used in that class of structures, especially bridges and columns, in which it is necessary to combine the maximum of strength with the minimum of weight; and it consists in the improved construction and combination of parts of a beam" (lines 22-27).

Patent for a new and improved window alarm. This design consists in "the window-frame, having the contact-springs connected in open circuit with an electrical alarm, with the screen or frame in the window-frame, having the double contact-points, the contact-springs, and the wires, the contact-point bearing against the spring . . . the point, spring, double contact-points, and the contact-springs being connected together in open-circuit, whereby an alarm will be sounded either by raising the screen or frame, by cutting one of the wires, or by pushing one of the wires aside" (lines 76-89).

Patent for a new and improved ruler. This design consists in "the combination of the flexible top piece or strip having parallel longitudinal ruling-edges and the separate tapering feet secured to the underside of said strip at suitable distances apart throughout the length of the latter, and with the ruling-edges of the top strip overlapping them" (lines 43-50).

Patent for a new and improved conveyer and cleaner of cotton. This design consists, "with the cotton pneumatic tube and the fan for producing an air-current therein, of the branch-tubes connecting the segments of the tube first named, the cotton-arresting screens, the enlarged mouth upon the tube-segment opposite the fan, the rotating cylinder mounted between said branches, the wings thereon completely filling, with the cylinder, the upper portion of the mouth and sweeping over the faces of the screens, the flexible valve, and the spring-actuated gate closing that part of the mouth" (lines 14-25).

Patent for a shoe or boot blackening machine that operates automatically with the depositing of a coin, and as such drastically decreases labor and time needed for shoe or boot blackening.

Patent for a railroad crossing that "consists in certain devices organized in a manner to secure automatic alignment of a series of movable rail-sections with the main rails of a track on which a train is traveling in the direction of the crossing, the approach of the train setting in motion the devices by which the rail-sections are controlled, and thus dispensing with an attendant at the crossing to set the contrivance for the safe passage of the train through the crossing" (lines 12-22).

Patent for a simple, inexpensive, and durable double tree that utilizes the entire force of the strain and divides it equally between the animals.

Patent for cheap, effective compound to sprinkle on coal to render it more combustible so that it burns more cleanly and soot is not emitted.

Patent for a machine dedicated to "increase the capacity of machines for separating decorticated cotton-seed" (lines 9-10) and to "separate the meal from the husks of the decorticated cotton-seed, whereby perfectly clean meal is collected" (lines 12-15)

Patent for a machine that removes cotton from a "wagon or other vehicle" (line 11), and moving it to a storage facility. It also moves the cotton from the storage facility and into the cotton gin. The cotton is elevated during movement via suction.
