Suit of red wool twill. A) Jacket has notched collar with very pointed collar and large round lapels, left collar point has a large bound buttonhole in it, double-breasted, closes with 2 bound buttonhole and covered buttons, 4 slanted bound pockets: left chest, right waist and both hips, front rounded at hem, back has pointed yoke, long sleeves without cuffs. Designer label: Signed by / Grace E. Curry / Chicago B) Skirt is straight-line, kick pleat at hem, zipper at left hip.

Pair of pumps of black leather. Shoes with pointed toes, and cut-work on the vamp which is outlined and embellished with small bronze/copper colored beads. Small circular holes edged with beading at sides. 2" high modified Louis or cuban heels. Stamped inside with retailer's mark: "Marshall Field & Co / Chicago" L: 26 cm W: 8 cm H: 13 cm Heel: 5 cm / 2 in.

Hatlet of brown velvet. The open-crown hat is formed of a hollow square with down-turned sides and corners, covered in brown velvet and edged in tiny pearls. "Flying" around the hat are 8 golden stamped metal hummingbirds. One wing of each bird is hinged, allowing movement of the birds as the wearer moves their head. Over all is a brown net veil "capturing" the hummingbirds, with scattered gathers of 4 pearls. The underside is edged in brown grosgrain ribbon, and has two small plastic combs attached to secure hatlet to wearer's head. Sewn onto the inner ribbon is maker's label: "Bes-Ben / Made in Chicago". Also sewn onto inner ribbon is hand-written label "917". Measurements: 14 x 15 cm. without net; 10 cm. from base of brim to highest tip of bird wing.

Hat of mauve fur felt. Styled somewhat as a fedora, the cylindrical crown has a telescoped crown. Hatband of a wide band of golden satin ribbon and woven braid of gold, bronze, and silver. All tie at right with the braid ends becoming tassels. The wide brim curves up at front and left, down to right and back. Unlined; headband of pale peach. Hat of beige velour. Styled as a modified calotte (also spelled "calot"), the hat has a low domed crown and narrow rolled brim with extends slightly more in front to form a "visor" shape. Set at front of hat is an ornament of crossed large white and beige feathers, and smaller gray and white ones. Underside of visor lined with an off-white jersey-like material, and the hat has an inner hatband of dark gray beige grosgrain ribbon overlaid with silver rickrack and pink lace.
