Emphasis was placed on soil and crop management problems of the Cross Timbers [referring to strip of land, a mix of prairie, savanna and woodland, that runs across southeastern Kansas, central Oklahoma and central Texas] with discussion on such subjects as: Breeding, and the Selection of Forage Grasses and Legumes; The Use of Fertilizers in Establishing Pasture Grasses; Tour of Headquarters Farm; Tour of Biomedical Division Laboratories; and Tour of Lone Grove Farm studying small grain variety tests, forage evaluation on Cross Timber soils; Deep Plowing Experiments; Cropping Systems and Fertilization; Pasture Establishment and Management; and Brush and Timber Control. Arrangements were made through Dave Rykar, in charge of Public Relations for the Foundation. OK-298-2.
