A) Dress of yellow wool knit. Full-length. Mandarin collar, with ends stitched down to form slight collar points. Center front opening with 17 self-covered circular buttons and bound button holes, two buttons non-functional due to sewn-down collar, and one extra button hole at top in collar, but no button. Long or 3/4 length sleeves. Two large patch pockets at front hips. Lined in yellow silk. Designer's label: "Norman Norell / New York" B) Tie belt of same fabric.

Day dress in shift style of light blue-green sage jersey wool knit. Street length. Center front opening with 11 circular blue-green plastic buttons and bound buttonholes. Convertible collar with 5" pointed ends and small non-functioning matching button and bound buttonhole at ends. Long sleeves with 3" cuffs and two small matching buttons with bound buttonholes. Two large patch pockets at sides, below waist. Lined in light sage colored silk crepe. A) Dress of off-white/beige cream wool jersey with matching belt. Knee-length or slightly longer. Long sleeves. Slight standing collar which opens at throat. Center front opening with series of 17 functional circular gilt buttons with "dimpled" texture. At throat are two non-functional buttons on the turned-back part of the collar. Buttonholes are bound, with red backgrounds. Large patch pockets at hips. Lined in a beige/cream silk. Designer's label at inside back collar: "Norman-Norell / New York" B) Long sash belt of same fabric, of tubular construction.

Woman's two-piece black silk/wool blend skirt suit. A) Fitted jacket. Elbow length set-in sleeves with rolled cuffs. Collarless neckline has rounded revers. Center front seven button closure; three are larger basalt cameos surrounded in gold separated by two pairs of self-covered buttons; bound buttonholes. Narrow double-welt pocket at left breast. Front hemline interest of rounded fabric under semicircular pockets. Lined in ivory silk. Designer/retailer label at center back neckline: "Irene / Exclusively for / Neiman-Marcus / Dallas" B) Skirt. Side pockets at the hips wrap around to the back side seams. Long dolman sleeves with 3" rounded slits at hem; underarm gussets. 6" slit at back. Lined in olive brown silk. Designer label at center back neckline: "Irene" Retail label at right side opening:"Jean-Lee / Ardmore" B) Skirt. Mid-calf length; slightly A-lined. Oral History Interview with Mr. and Mrs. C.S. Sykes, September 27, 1971
Interview with Mr. C. S. Sykes, a US Army WWII veteran from Ardmore, Oklahoma, and his wife, from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Both were on Oahu on December 7th, 1941, and witnessed the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. They discuss the peacetime army, being stationed at Schofield Barracks, living on Kawailoa Beach, events prior to the attack, and events during the attack on Oahu.
