This article continues Von Creel's study of the administration of justice in Indian Territory courts and expands upon the application of capital punishment. Von Creel details the cases of nine individuals who were convicted of capital crimes but who escaped hanging. The Ardmore Tragedy: Local History on an International Level
Article chronicles the media storm of misinformation that followed the shooting of three college student in Ardmore, Oklahoma. The students were parked on the side of the road when two plain clothes policemen pulled over to apprehend them for public urinating. The ensuing scuffle left two of the students dead, one of which was related to Pascual Ortis Rubio, the president of the Republic of Mexico.
