Technical Concept-Operation Bren
From Abstract: "The Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) Health Physics Research Reactor is to be attached to a hoist platform on a 1500-ft tower at the Nevada Test Site (NTS). The project is a continuation of the studies commenced in 1956 for evaluating the radiation doses of persons exposed to nuclear weapons, especially the residents of Hiroshima and Nagaski, Japan. Measurements will be made of the energy, angular, and spatial distributions of the radiation from the reactor."

Gamma-Radioactivity Investigations Related to Waste Disposal, Jackass Flats, Nevada Test Site
From introduction: Under the general supervision of the Health Division of the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory, the U.S. Geological Survey is participating in geologic and hydrologic studies of the tile field constructed in Jackass Flats in the southwestern part of the Nevada Test Site as related to waste disposal, M. D. Shutler rendered valuable assistance in obtaining and evaluating portions of the data in this report. These investigations were done on behalf of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission and were supported by the Division of Reactor Development and by the Albuquerque Operations Office.

High-Explosive Ditching from Linear Charges
Abstract: "Weights of linear high-explosive charges fired on the Yucca Lake playa of the Nevada Test Site varied from 0.23 to 42.7 pounds per foot. Crater and ditch dimensions and volumes resulting from these shots, fired during the fall of 1959 and spring of 1960, are presented here as a function of charge burst depths. Scaling relationships determined are as expected; i.e., square-root scaling of linear-charge weight per foot for ditch width and depth and a direct linear-charge weight relationship to ditch volume are obtained. Permanent ground surface displacement varies as the -3.22 power of the scaled distance from the charge. Detonation effects, charge shape effects, ditch erosion, and ditch cross sections are discussed. The appendixes present Toboggan data, results of soil investigation, and mathematical treatment given the data."
