Process of Baling Cotton.

Patent for improvement in process of baling cotton is to “heat the cotton-bat at a point between the gin-condenser and the pressing-rollers, exposing the heated bat while incompact to the action of dry air, then compress the cotton-bat into bale form.” (Page 2, lines 39-43) Illustration is included.

Patent for roller-presses that form cylindrical bales from cotton-bat delivered from the gin-condenser to the press. The invention is meant to make the structure more compact and lighter, with greater strength and capacity; to relieve friction; to automatically change pressure as the bale increases; to form the bale without a core; and to improve various aspects of completing the bales.
