Patent for a churn with an improved dasher-operating mechanism. It simply and effectively combines a "rotary and reciprocatory movement to a churn-dasher to hasten the separation of the butter" (lines 11-13). The dasher is attached to a frame, and is operated through a crank. The churn rests on a platform also attached to the frame.

Patent for a combined harrow and cultivator that can easily change between the two. It consists of a beam with front and back removable tooth-seats, handles, adjusting holes in the beam, a perforated plate on the top and bottom sides of the beam, pins, and a wedge-shaped key between the bar and a slot in a tooth.

Patent for a new and improved coupling for railroad cars. This design consists in "[a] car-coupler having a hook formed thereon . . . an open recess in the rear thereof, pins or projecting supports adjacent to the recess . . . a trigger pivoted to the coupler and projecting beyond the hook, so as to support the link . . . independent of the coupler and adapted to pass over the hook" (lines 64-75).

Patent for a new and improved automatic car brake. This design "consists, first, in the combination of the draw-heads . . . connecting-rods . . . and a partially-rotating shaft provided with suitable slotted cams, which cams are attached to the brake-beams, so that when the draw-heads are forced inward or drawn out the brakes will move out of contact with the wheels; second, in the combination, with the slotted cams and a mechanism for moving them, of the rods which are connected thereto, and which pass through the brake-beams, the sliding sleeves, the springs, and the nuts" (lines 13-27).

This design "is to construct a device which may be secured to horses, cattle, and other animals, and which will effectually prevent fence-jumping, while at the same time allow the animal free use of [its] head and limbs, doing away with any tendency to cramp the wearer" (lines 17-23). It consists, "with bar and a means for suspending it beneath the animal's body and the bar, which is secured at its outer end to the animal's head, of a hinge to the opposite side of which the adjacent ends of the said bars are pivoted" (lines 78-83).
