Carswell advises of his disagreement with such a policy, of the effects of the possible application in the future. The article in question, which appeared in the January 1958 issue of The Baptist Standard, is attached, and includes the report regarding student protests at Wake Forest demonstrating against the convention for its ban on dancing on campus; condemnation of the action by Wake Forest trustees which allowed dancing on campus; praise regarding action taken by President J. C. Canipe; condemnation of students on any Baptist campus participating in unchristian demonstrations then presenting the theory these students are not Baptists which stems from schools accepting applicants from other denominations.
