Burdette, Director of the Citizenship Course, Butler University, Indianapolis, Indiana, dated December 15, 1941. Burdette conveys for President Daniel S. Robinson his appreciation for the letter from Carswell regarding the request for a definition of Americanism and advises of Robinson's request for Burdette to define it, therefore, the reason for the enclosed statement "Basic Ideals of Constitutional Democracy" as distributed by the National Foundation for Education in American Citizenship. He advises of a full-year course in American Government and Citizenship required of all sophomores attending Butler University.
