Carswell replies to a request for information regarding J. W. Reid and his brother. He advises that they practice law in Abilene, the brother is already in the Marine Corp and that, in the opinion of two good lawyers with whom Carswell talked, "J. W. Reid means well and does right".

A Western Union telegram sent to The Governor, State of Colorado, Denver, Colorado, wiht a note that the same telegram was sent to the governors of Arizona (Phoenix), New Mexico (Santa Fe), and Oklahoma (Oklahoma City), from T. N. Carswell, Chairman, Army Day Arrangements Committee, Abilene, Texas, dated March 31, 1941. Carswell issues an invitation to attend Army Day, that "General Key and the Mayor of the City of Abilene join in this invitation."

A letter written to the State Highway Commission of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City, from W. R. Ely, Member Texas Highway Commission, Abilene, dated November 3, 1927. Letter of introduction for Mr. T. N. Carswell of Abilene, Texas as a representative of the various towns touched by Highway No. 4 in Texas and an advisement that he has the endorsement of the Texas Highway Commission.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Milt Phillips, Department Adjutant, The American Legion, Department of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City, dated May 22, 1942. Phillips advises that he was given an assurance from Fred Young that Carswell would provide information on the standing of J. W. Reid as a lawyer, that he accepted a fee to secure a divorce for a soldier, the son of a splendid legionnaire, but an allottment made to the girl and was later cancelled has not yet been stopped.
