A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Secretary-Manager, Abilene Chamber of Commerce, from John H. Hewlett, Colleen Moore's Doll House, Los Angeles, California, dated January 7, 1938. Hewlett confirms that they intend to exhibit the Colleen Moore Doll House sometime in Abilene that year.

The included documents are a letter, a booklet containing information on Occidental Life Insurance Company, the Certificate of Assumption of Sayles' policy by Occidental Life Insurance, a reinsurance agreement, the new premium rates, and a letter from the Insurance Commissioner of Iowa.

He confides, "We may or may not be able to obtain contracts for furnishing various government projects with coffee extract—we will operate henceforth in a secret manner." Hill handwrites postscript down left side of page acknowledging omissions and typographical errors which he "will not attempt to correct".

Hill outlines his business itinerary and discribes the bad effects that the war in Korea is having on many businesses. The reverse side includes a postscript informing Carswell of Hill's immediate travel itinerary and a reminder of his Los Angeles address.

A letter written to Mr. Carswell, from R. D. Hill, Los Angeles 5, California, dated November 28, 1950. Hill confirms they are now operating in New Mexico and should be able to put the operation on a paying basis regardless of idiotic political doings, that the LLIHEDRA CORPORATION will hold controlling interest and mentions the use of the thousand dollars that Carswell gave to him. Handwritten postscript at left side of page expresses appreciation for the inclusion of Miss Hatchett and gives regards.

She summarizes their past, discussing their finances and health. She also talks about other members of her family and what they have done to support their parents.
