Charles Alexander Williams was born in Arkansas in 1832 and died in Denton County in 1922. He was Sheriff of Denton County from 1856-1858, and then once again from 1866-1867.

Previously, it was part of the old high school building which dates from 1909. At a later date, it was also called Central Elementary. This image shows a doorway where the doors (red) have already been knocked down and are still visible lying on the ground. A bid by M&S Excavating and Wrecking Co. of Fort Worth was accepted in May of 1977 and the work was to be completed within 75 days.

Truett Family Dressed as "Hillbillies" for Christmas Card

The Truett family dressed as "hillbillies" for their Christmas card. From left to right: JoDee, Tykey, Jerry, DeeDee and Lute. Tykey has propped up one of her legs on the back of a goat and is holding it with a leash tied to its horns. Also pictured is a German shepherd named Domino who is a direct descendant of Kellog's "Rin-Tin-Tin". The nanny goat on the lower left is an Alpine-Nubian mixed breed named "Rook". It was taken shortly after the Truett family moved from Denton to Friendsville, Tennessee, in late October 1974 by the late "Tot" Clarabelle Thompson, who was Tykey's older sister. The location is an old log cabin blacksmith shop used by Tykey Truett's father Ernest Clyde Thompson in Friendsville, Tennessee who moved there in the early 1930s.
