Cocktail dress of a variety of red and black fabrics with floral motifs. Bodice with round neckline, sleeveless, tucks at three points at the neckline, vertical waist darts, bodice of red and black brocade with oversize poppy motif and the edges of flowers with fly fringe (suggesting flowers woven as supplemental weft), natural waistline, center back invisible zipper. Skirt styled as though center front features large inverted box pleat but instead is a wrap with a generous overlap of fabric, skirt fabric is polyester-silk blend organza with abstract or impressionist black and red poppy motif complementing bodice pattern, with fabric from right side seam and under the wrap featuring surface design with beading, scattered sequins, embroidery, and three-dimensional flowers resembling carnations made of gathered netting and tulle, fully lined in black silk. Coat sleeves fit in supportive arm holes that are connected by support structure fabric across the back of shoulders. Long ribbons connect to armseye and support layers and flow down past length of coat. Flowers of the same material but variations in color are attached to ribbons.
