It also reviewed methodologies developed from previous research and identified the most effect risk management techniques.

Megaregion planning presents an alternative way of mitigating metropolitan problems of large-scale transportation systems, green infrastructure, and economic development and has attracted a number of transportation advocates since 2000."

"Beginning in the summer of 1999, Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) started developing the framework for implementing a sophisticated new system to manage its large and diverse portfolio of projects during their development phase. This was followed by the implementation itself for managing project schedules, project and portfolio resources and costs during their development cycle. Report on the existing concrete overlays in Texas and the results of laboratory research on the material selection and construction of concrete overlays.

"A comprehensive search and review of the use of concrete overlays by the TxDOT districts as well as other DOTs was conducted, with special emphasis focused on gathering information about the constituent materials and mixture proportioning used in the concrete overlays. This review also included new materials such as fibers used in previous studies and new types of fibers currently available. Publications and articles covering the various overlay rehabilitations were used as the background this project, as well as the several studies and implementation projects have been conducted for TxDOT."

This research effort is comprised of the following components: synthesis of available literature and analysis methods, development of capacity analysis methods, validation and enhancement of existing tools, and a spreadsheet tool to aid in roundabout planning and implementation."

Report discussing a project, which developed a series of interdependent models and a simulation framework to evaluate the traffic operations and safety benefits of ATM strategies. Four ATM scenarios were evaluated in this study: variable speed limits (VSL), peak-period shoulder use, VSL and shoulder use, and ramp metering.

Report discussing projects initiated under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), a fiscal stimulus package signed by President Obama on March 6, 2009. State agencies like the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) who received ARRA funds had to report, on a monthly basis, various data on each project in the ARRA program, including staff numbers, hours worked, and payroll. TxDOT asked the Center for Transportation Research (CTR) to identify and isolate specific elements of the 0-6592 database that TxDOT's Construction Division (CST) can implement into an existing TxDot database. This report describes the implementation of the database and procedures for updating it.

In February 2010, The Texas Department of Transportation (TcDOT) contracted with the Center for Transportation Research (CTR) at The University of Texas at Austin, the Texas Transportation Institute (TTI), and The Center for Multidisciplinary Research in Transportation (TechMRT) at Texas Tech University, to assist TxDot in developing a Strategic Research Program (SRP).
