The purposes of the study were as follows: first, to study the literature in the field of teaching drafting with special reference to the use of instructional aides in presenting orthographic projection concerning the use of a projection box; second, to ascertain the value of the use of a tri-color projection box in teaching orthographic projection to an experimental group of students at the R. L. Turner High School, Carrollton, Texas; and third, to determine if an analysis of these data indicates a justification for the use of this type of an instructional aid in teaching orthographic projection.

First, to determine the effectiveness of the apprenticeship training program in selected building crafts in the Dallas metropolitan area during the period September 1959 to June 1967. In order to arrive at a point of determination concerning the effectiveness of the apprenticeship, it will be necessary to delve into the organization, administration, and implementation of the apprenticeship training program as operated by the Dallas Independent School District in cooperation with the craft trades and their respective labor unions. This will include a study of apprenticeship committees, curriculum, methods of selection of apprentices, and qualifications of instructors for apprenticeship training programs. The purpose of this study is threefold. First, numerical control will be analyzed objectively to ascertain its justification in terms of meeting the requirements of the basic manufacturing process phases. Secondly, the study will consist of an evaluation of the field of industrial arts in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to determine how numerical control has been accepted in the educational field and what preparation, if any, is being made to include the teaching of this new industrial concept. Thirdly, the study will investigate the feasibility and cost of installing numerically controlled equipment in the industrial arts laboratories of North Texas State University.

This is a study to ascertain the current qualifications and status of the industrial arts teachers employed in the elementary, junior, and senior high schools in the state of Texas. The purpose of this study is threefold: 1) to hypothesize that the qualifications and status of Texas industrial arts teachers have improved within the last fourteen years; 2) to hypothesize that those industrial arts teachers who were active in professional organizations have higher academic qualifications and status than those teachers who were not active in professional organizations; and 3) to hypothesize that industrial arts programs under the guidance of those teachers who were active members of professional organizations had a more complete industrial arts program and offer a wider selection of courses than those not.
