Eagle Park Bleachers at the North Texas State College

View of the field bleachers at Eagle Park at North Texas State College. Trees dot the foreground and tall, electric lights line the edges of the playing area. The field was constructed in 1913, and in 1927 steel stands were constructed to seat 2,200 on the west side of the field. The football field was part of "Eagle Park."

It was a one-story brick veneer building located on the southeast corner of the campus at Ave. A. (west side) and Chestnut. It was across the street (Chestnut) from the Student Memorial Union. This building opened in 1933 and served as the university's hospital until 1957. The site is now occupied by the Business Administration Building. The light-colored building next to the hospital appears to be the Hospital Annex, which was added after President F.D. Roosevelt approved a $12,000 WPA grant for the addition.
