[Letter from John Hutton to Peter Stewart, November 1, 1973] (open access)

[Letter from John Hutton to Peter Stewart, November 1, 1973]

Letter from John Hutton to Peter Stewart discussing his response to Stewart asking if he can engrave a design on dark glass. Hutton says he can but feels the result will not be as good because dark glass eliminates some of the effects and subtleties of the design. He says he prefers not to use dark glass unless there is an architectural reason for it. He also mentions that he was lent the book "The Paradise Myth", which discusses the Tree of Life and relates to a design idea he was working on for the Thanks-Giving chapel. There is also a note attached from Peter Stewart to Philip Johnson asking about his thoughts on Hutton's letter.
