The photograph shows Johnston and another fireman with the hose shooting water into the river and a large crowd of people standing around watching the display.

Postcard of the Providence Fire Department and citizens at a three-story fire station. Three fire fighters are standing on an upright ladder in the center of the image. On the back of the postcard, the sender has left a handwritten message that says, "Occupies the first door - engine. The next - doors leading to men's quarters in centre - trucks next - district chief last. This station is close to my home, covers the district [...] up to date - bowling alley on the top floor. Capt's rooms at each corner, front - recreation room in centre. [...]"

Postcard from W. B. Johnston to George Pendexter discussing the weather and other cards that have been sent from Waco, Texas. The photograph on the reverse side shows "Truck Co. No. 1" in the St. Joseph Fire Department in St. Joseph, Michigan; the wagon in the picture is being pulled by three horses, is loaded with ladders, with two firemen in the driver's seat. The other seven men in the photograph are standing on the sides of the wagon with one fireman sitting on the very back end.

On the back of the postcard, the sender has left a handwritten message that says, "Have just one more fire dept. down here with one after sending these two today. So, please send me card next time - until I get home."

Postcard from W. B. Johnston to George Pendexter discussing cards to send and saying that the wagon in the photo just went out of commission. The photograph on the reverse side shows a horse-drawn fire wagon with the title "Auxiliary" written on the side; this wagon and crew are a part of the St. Joseph Fire Department in St. Joseph, Michigan. There are five firemen in this photograph, two are sitting in the driver's seat while the other three are standing on the ground next to the wagon. There is a water cannon mounted in the back of the wagon and a lantern attached to the driver's seat.

Copy of a chattel mortgage agreement between W. H. Bonnell and Charles Schreiner in which Bonnell owes $1,358 to Schreiner as well as $400 in other fees. In this document Bonnell places his property, including his goats, up as collateral until he is able to pay back the debt; should he default Schreiner would be empowered to sell the property stated.
