A letter written to Nora Whiting from Byrdie Carswell, typed by T. N. Carswell, dated November 25, 1968. Byrdie recounts her life-long appreciation and love for Nora, her older sister; of Nora's and Milton's love for her continuing after they married; their continued love after she and Tommy married; their contribution to Peg "in love and lifelong direction that has enriched her life". She advises that she and Tommy were glad that Nora sounded better the last time they talked to her. Hand written postscript expresses gladness to have Peg come & see them - even for a day.

A letter addressed to Miss Janice Fogle and Mr. Ronnie Fogle from T. N. Carswell ,dated November 25, 1967. Carswell expresses his appreciation for their friendship and for the coconut cake assuring them that Mrs. Carswell and he enjoyed it. He advises of his friendship with their parents and grandparents, offers a bit of philosophy and wisdom and then wishes happiness and success for "big sister" and them and a Merry Christmas.

A letter written to Mr. Cape, Ideals Publishing Co., Milwaukee, Wisconsin, from T. N. Carswell, dated September 25, 1967. Carswell advises of an enclosed check for an order of 10 subscriptions and asks that they refer to their letter of December 20, 1966 for clarity on his order acknowledging that he is beginning to show, and at times feel, his age noting he will be eighty next month.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Lyle Thoburn, President, The Bowman Products Company, Cleveland, Ohio 44101, dated November 25, 1964. Thoburn advises of his agreement with Carswell that it was regretful Bob Taft was not elected instead of Johnson. He adds that it is of interest that Carswell's father and uncle and Thoburn's grandfather were all wounded in the battle of Franklin, Tennessee.

A letter written to Hon. Brooks Hays, Assistant Secretary of State, Washington, D. C. from T. N. Carswell, dated November 25, 1961. Carswell advises of his privilege to have heard both of the addresses given by Hays during his visit to Abilene and requests a copy of the poem, written by an Australian World War II pilot, that he used at the Hardin-Simmons University address.

A letter written to Representative Graham A. Barden, House of Representatives, Washington, D. C., from T. N. Carswell, dated June 25, 1959. Carswell advises that he is enclosing a ballot explaining points that should be covered affirmatively in the Labor Bill. He advises that Burleson had written to him that he is of the opinion that the bill will contain most of the recommendations of the McClellan Senate Committee and perhaps contain some things not covered in the McClellan Amendments. Carswell advises that big business and big labor must be amenable to law or the public will suffer. He also expresses his hope that the Senate will not add amendments to the Smith Act which was passed by the House and that the Congress will eliminate the incompetence and waste in the distribution of Foreign Aid funds.

Carswell expresses his hope that Burleson will get the measures passed which he has marked on an enclosed ballot that was published in the Reporter News. He advises of his support of the bill sponsored by Representative Smith of Virginia to curb the power of the Supreme Court as to strictly state matters and repudiates the foreign aid policy describing the administration of it as "shot through with incompetence". He requests to be sent a copy of the record for the last session and to be put on Burleson's list to receive a copy of the Congressional Record.

Carswell expresses his appreciation to McClellan for the work done by the Select Committee to Investigate Improper Activities in Labor-Management Relations and advises that he has enclosed a ballot clipped from the local newspaper indicating points that should be covered by the new Labor Bill.

Carswell advises that he has enclosed a ballot from the Abilene newspaper with reference to what the new Labor Bill should contain and requests that Johnson support the Smith Bill without any weakening amendments. A letter written to Senator Richard B. Russell, United States Senate, from T. N. Carswell, dated June 25, 1959. Carswell explains that as a native Georgian he has followed Russell's services in the Congress and advises that because of the importance of some matters now pending he has taken the liberty to write enlisting his support of the new Labor Bill, the bill sponsored by Representative Smith of Virginia restricting the Supreme Court when dealing with strictly state matters and to discontinue or drastically reduce Foreign Aid.

Subject requests a personal recommendation from Carswell as is required by the Board for a subject to file application for Full Pardon and a restoration of civil rights.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Chairman, Taylor County Parole Board, from Vincent O'Leary, Director, Division of Parole Supervision (by John W. Walton, Supervisor), Board of Pardons and Paroles, Texas, dated March 25, 1958. Walton refers to correspondence from the State of Oklahoma requesting information regarding Subject No. 60604' - Okla. and then, in turn, requests information from Carswell regarding Subject No. 60604' - Okla.

A letter written to Dr. J. D. Magee, Abilene, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, dated June 25, 1956. Carswell advises Magee of his displeasure noting he had fully intended to see him again about his eyes. "This is not the first time I have bought and paid for some experience".

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Chairman, Taylor County Parole Board, from Thomas B. White, Member, Board of Pardons and Paroles, Texas, dated February 25, 1955. White advises Carswell of the discharge date of June 9, 1956 for Subject 108,345 and of a review scheduled for March of 1955, "at which time we will give it our study and see what if anything we can do in this case".

Carswell] from Jet Peters dated August 25, 1954. Campaign card printed for Paul Brashear for State Representative with personal handwritten note advising how as a Shivers Democrat Peters helped carry Cisco for Ike saving their Tide Lands to clean up the mess in Washington, and he congratulates Carswell saying that his article in yesterday's Star Telegram "hit the spot". Peters also asks about Abilene: "How's the West Texas Chamber of Commerce? I hear its sick financially—Do get a big kick out of your Abilene's growth. I first knew the town in 1900."

A letter written to a parolee/inmate in Stillwater, Minnesota, from T. N. Carswell, Chairman, Taylor County Parole Board, dated January 25, 1954. Carswell reminds Subject 108,345 of his crime history and explains that the $125 from Mrs. Breeding payed off the two checks he cashed at B & B Food Store and J. C. Penney Company resulting in the District Attorney agreeing not to prosecute. Carswell continues explaining that an attorney would have charged $100 but he did it without charge yet Mrs. Breeding is demanding that he return the money, therefore, he suggests that Subject hire a lawyer.
