She shares stories of protests and traveling to marches and her time in the closet while teaching in the Dallas Independent School District while peers were outed and eventually challenged and overturned the laws in Texas.

During her session, Jack speaks about her experience in the world of gay and lesbian bars such as The Conference Room, High Country, The Unicorn, and The Old Plantation, and also her times experiencing Pride and Gay Pride in the community. She worked with and continues to work with Caven Enterprises and also served for a time as the first female President of the Dallas Tavern Guild. Kathy Jack is married to Susie Buck.

The song the choir is singing appears to be based on Revelation 21:4: "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." The performance took place in the Edna Mae Sandborn Music Reading Room (Willis 430A). Many of the musicians featured were UNT Libraries employees, including librarians Maristella Feustle (playing guitar) and Ralph Hartsock (second from right) and graduate student library assistant Adam La Spata (conducting).
