Field of Sericea Lespedeza

Photograph of a field of Sericea Lespedeza used as a soil builder on soil bank land. The back of the photograph proclaims, "Sericea Lespedeza. Being used as soil builder on Soil Bank Land. James was not ready to go to pasture and land was still suitable for cultivation as mapped by SCS Soils technicians. After a period of years this land will be returned to production of grain and fiber crops or maintained as Sericea meadow for Hickman's cow herd."

At back toe of dam steel, galvanized, corrugated, 8 guage, asphalt coated culvert pipe was substituted for concrete pipe. The culvert pipe is leaking at joint, rivets, and seams. There was some vibration on the last joint of culvert pipe.

Photograph of a field day. Soil Conservation Service and Youth day. Two CCC enrolles (left) Joe Williams (right), James Tate, Asst. Leader, talk into microphone for a transcription for radio broadcast to questions of Mr. Lane Beatty, State Agricultural Statistician, Oklahoma State department of Agriculture. Recording was broadcast by radio over station WKY. Enrolles are from Clinton, OK, CCC Camp. Asked how they liked their work, both replied "I like it," and added that they were learning somethng that would benefit them in later life. OK-8312.
