A typed note that was paper clipped to the photograph (at one time) reads: "North View from Kochan's Shop". The railroad track extends from the left bottom corner of the photo to right center. There are several people walking along the railroad tracks. There is a man on horseback to the right of the railroad tracks near a wooden business building. The railroad bridge can be seen near right center. The Brazos River Bridge can be seen near far left center. Businesses visible in the photograph are: "Brady Bros. Baker and Grocery, F. L. Barnes (?) Restaurant, I Ditch Dray Goods, Baker and Hirsch, Lone Star Market, and Austin's (?) Saloon." There is a white picket fence with trees enclosed in bottom right corner of photograph.
