The attached letter is written to Dr. Jeff Davis, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys from E. J. Miller, Judge, 35th Judicial District, Brownwood, Texas dated July 16, 1941. Miller reports on the proceedings regarding Ellison vs. Texas Liquor Board, advises to await the action of the Court of Civil Appeals and gives a brief itinerary of his travel and work to date and for the next two weeks requesting further remittance as soon as it may be convenient.

A letter written to Major T. N. Carswell, 10th Bn., Texas Defense Guard, Abilene, Texas, from Neill H. Banister, Lieut. Col., Infantry, Asst. to the Adjutant General, Austin, dated July 16, 1941. Brigadier General J. Watt Page expresses his and the Department's appreciation for the splendid, unselfish, and patriotic service performed for the Texas Defense Guard by Carswell and the other inspectors, voluntarily and without cost to the department, saving time and funds.
