The fortunate West escaped with a burned arm and a dislocated toe, but welding torches were needed to cut him out of the wreckage of the crumpled $7,000 Offenhauser. He was released from Oklahoma City General hospital after treatment Monday night."

Exceptions are some of the more dangerous animals, which can't be moved safely from their cages."
