He announces Mr. James Dennis as the District Parole Officer for Abilene and expresses his belief that Carswell will enjoy working with Mr. Dennis.

Handwritten inside the program is correspondence to Tommy [T. N. Carswell] from Sarah Anna. Crane reminisces regarding her father liking "this sort of show". Crane expresses her appreciation to Carswell for the update agreeing with Carswell regarding having fond memories of Hardin-Simmons and requests that if he sees Grace or Grady Andrews to please remember her to them.

Latimer writes that the legislature will need to provide $100 million in new state income to maintain the current spending rate, in addition to increases due to public school and university enrollments, larger prison populations, and other state services. He also mentions that less drilling in state-owned land will result in less money for Texas schools.
