Caption: "Seared Debris was all that was left of the St. Robert's Bellarime Catholic Church in Jones after flames gutted the $25,000 building early Friday. Almost all religious objects were destroyed. Residents, awakened at 6 a.m., saved the pews and a few of the objects. A new $20,000 annex and kitchen did not burn, but were badly damaged by water. Residents said they intend to clean up the annex and use it as a sanctuary until they can rebuild their church. It was the only Catholic church in Jones. Fire trucks from Oklahoma City, jones and Choctaw battled the blaze for an hour before it was brought under control."

A 25-cent charge will be made for parking in the lot immediatley south of the new stadium in the state fair grounds. However, fans who don't mind walking a littl way can find free parking east of Grand Blvd. The stadium is just west of Grand Blvd. Mayor Norick, who also is chairman of the baseball trust, said Wednesday the paid parking area was in the original plans of the trust. The trust will get 25 percent of the revenue from the parking fees. The lot south of the stadium has not yet been paved or fenced, but those improvements are included in the stadium plans, Norick said."

"It won't come tommorow. We're still in the process of study and planning. But we are far enough along that we can make a deal, get the idea out in the open and start writing definite contracts.....The project has been under study for some months. Coston-Frankfurt-Short, Oklahjoma City architecural firm that specializes in large commercial developments, submitted the proposals..........Anderson-Roomey is owned jointly by W. A. Caption: "County Roadbuilding Machinery is at work grading a parking lot at Exchange Avenue Baptist Church in this photo by Times photgrapher Cliff King. County Commisssioner Luke Miller, in whose district this occurred, said the practice of using county machinery for such church projects is common. He said he would not "send equipment on a special trip," but that such service would be furnished any church :if we've got a job nearby it." He said the grading usually required only a half-hour of work. Miller said county commissioners annually grade hundreds of little league baseball fields for the YMCA at no cost, "and that's illegal, too."
